| Law n°99-223 on protecting the health of sportsmen and on preventing the consumption of illicit drugs was passed by the French National Assembly on March 23rd, 1999.
Under the provisions of this new law, all French or foreign runners are required to produce proof of their fitness to participate in running competitions. Such proof must be in the form of a medical certificate issued by a doctor following a medical examination. ? You must be in possession of a medical certificate issued less than 12 months prior to the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay Marathon, i.e. 12 months prior to June 22th, 2002, testifying that you are fit to participate in running competitions. ? The original certificate must be given to the organizers attached to your entry form and payment when you register for the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay Marathon. WARNING: given that the organizers' liability is involved, your entry form will not be accepted if you cannot prove the existence of a medical certificate by showing it directly. |
